A beautiful afternoon to nourish the body, breath, and mind, set at the peaceful, warm and cosy Notley Yoga Centre perfect for Yoga, Gong Baths and meditation. The investment in yourself is £65 and includes refreshments.
Suitable for all abilities including beginners. Includes Yoga Asana (Postures), Pranayama (Breathing) Meditation & Gong Bath.
Each retreat day will be themed with the time of year, flowing with the season's energy to enhance our practice on and off the mat! Typical Spring/Summer/Autumn/Winter days are as follows.
Imbolc | The First Whispers of Spring
In the soft lengthening light of the afternoon, the Afternoon Retreat unfolds in the spirit of Imbolc, the ancient festival that celebrates the first whispers of spring.
Gentle movement and pranayama invite participants to begin to gently awaken from winter’s stillness, mirroring the subtle stirring of life beneath the earth. The air carries a sense of renewal and quiet anticipation & excitement!
We will consider our Spring intentions during the practice and see what arises...
We end the afternoon with a gorgeous Gong bath, its resonant waves washing through the body like early spring light, clearing away the remnants of cold and nurturing a sense of inner warmth, clarity, and rebirth. Imagine a spring clean of the cells!
We also remember that this is a gentle awakening, not a full on burst!
Summer Afternoon Retreat | Mid-Summer Pause
Midsummer is a perfect opportunity for us to pause and evaluate where we are. How the year is progressing…how the seeds we have planted and the projects we have started are progressing.
This pause in the middle of our year is a time when we get to evaluate if we are moving in the right direction. Do our actions make us happy?
If spring is a time of optimism, then should summer be a time when our experience is like a bud waiting to open into a beautiful flower? Our autumn years are a time for beautiful colour and a tendency for earlier nights before a winter of quieter times and reflection.
This retreat day will include a vibrant morning followed by a relaxed and gentle afternoon practise, taking time to pause and honour the summer and its warmth. Finishing with a soothing Gong Bath
As always let go of what isn’t serving us anymore and remove obstacles as we move with the seasons. Think of the changing of seasons as time for renewal, this constant shedding as the seasons change helps us to let go so we continue to grow and transform.

Embrace the Season: A Restorative Afternoon Retreat
As we enter the colder, darker half of the year, it's an ideal time to reflect on the months behind us and gently release what no longer serves. This season invites us to turn inward, to rest and digest, and to honour the rhythm of nature as we adjust to its quieter pace.
Join us for a calming and restorative afternoon designed to support this transition. We'll begin with a gentle, flowing morning practice to ease out the tension of the week. This will be followed by deeply nourishing Restorative yoga and a meditative Gong Bath, calming both body and mind.
The afternoon is dedicated to breath, movement, and stillness, offering space for self-inquiry, release, and renewal. Together, we’ll welcome the changing year as an opportunity to shed old layers and move forward with intention.
This is an afternoon just for you: reflective yet uplifting, leaving you feeling grounded and prepared for the days ahead.
The afternoon is set at the warm, cosy Notley Yoga Centre, all equipment is supplied and the underfloor heating will keep us toasty all day!
Open to all skill levels, including beginners.
